Toilet Papered

Er... Saturday night Matt & I walk out to find toilet paper strung around our house... who was culprit? Well, not too many people know where we live. Kim, Matt's sister, was just over with some friends and so we thought it was them, but she swears it wasn't her. My sister was out with some friends, so we thought possibly she was the one toilet papering her own house. (We live with Aline my sister.) However, she also swears she was not the one. So who did it?

New House!

We are going on week 2 of our new home.

It's kind of crazy to think of yourself as a home owner. It's not the fact that I am actually living in a house, as much as it's the fact I owe the bank LOTS of money. It's hard to fathom that my "good" name is attached to so much debt. I do mean good debt, right? Regardless... I'm in the hole quite a bit. Spare change anyone? ;)

The house hasn't had anyone in it for probably 10 to 12 months. There are some pipes that need adjusting, electrical that needs adjusting, toilets that need adjusting, sinks that need adjusting... the list continues. Matt has been pretty handy about trying to fix things himself. He has his Home Depot book which explains to do pretty much anything and he has Google which can also pretty much tell you had to do anything with perspectives and advice from loads of other people as well. Matt is absolutely excellent at using his resources!

Random Fact: Toilet Paper

Random Fact: December 30, 2010 was the first time, since we've been married, that we've had to purchase toilet paper.

I know it sounds really odd, but it's true. When we got married some friends of ours thought it would be nice to give us something we could really use. So they gave us those huge sets of toilet paper you can buy at Costco. Also, I think my Mom bought us some toilet paper as well for our new home. Two or three weeks ago we were about out, but then Matt won some toilet paper at a white elephant exchange. Unfortunately, we ran out of our huge supply December 30, 2010. That supply has lasted us the 17 months we have been married!

Quite honestly, the toilet paper we were given as a wedding present, was quite useful. :)

Worth Blogging...

While at security, at the Salt Lake International Airport, I took my laptop out of my bag and put it through the X-Ray. In my haste, I grabbed the first Dell laptop I saw come out of the x-ray, and shoved it in my computer bag. I was off. This happened on Friday morning. Saturday afternoon I opened up my lap top bag to work on some school stuff and TA DAH....! Here is a brand new lap top that does not look like mine at all.

Anyways, I call Dell, contact someone in Alasaka, and FedEx the computer to them within hours. Lucky for me, although I had to send it to Alasaka, the person who actually has my computer is in Las Vegas. Very conveniently, some good friends were there too and picked it up for me. I'll see compy on Friday. :)

UTAH vs. TCU

It was a sea of black.

Except where Matt & I were. It was a sea of white with purple tints. We landed with the tickets in the "Visitors" section, top row baby! The distance wasn't so bad, it was more the fact that we were parallel with the sides of the huge screen, that we couldn't see replays. It was a bit nostalgic for me to be amongst Texans. The women in cowboy boots and the men in Wranglers . They were pretty nice. You have to like Texans... at least I do.

It was a pretty sore los. I was unsure if the Utes were going to win or not, but at least I was hoping it would be close. The way it was played it look as if the Utes didn't even have a chance, sad day. :(

I talked to my Mom later on that day and she said, "maybe it was all of that black? That is kind of morbid."

Longlooper Fallapalooza!

It was our First Annual Longlooper Fallapalooza! Let's be honest... October is one of the more exiting times in SLC. There are so many , Haunted What-nots (forests, houses, trails,galleries,gardens, etc.) Halloween is an excuse to go out and celebrate the end of summer and the welcoming of colder weather. We get together as a family to go to a corn maze or something so I figured we ought to make it family tradition. Matt came up with the name, "Fallapalooza". Wegot together, ate pumpkin treats, made pizzas and went to a haunted cornmaze in West Jordan. It was fun. James screamed about everything. Aline tried to embrace the decorations and Matt threw corn ahead of everyone else into the bushes, of course scaring James into thinking something was waiting in the corn maze for him. Here are some photosofthe event!

Also in other news Matt and I went to the U game against Colorado State. It was actually an awesome game. Matt and I froze as we got caught in the rain on our way to the stadium. We got ponchos to prevent us from getting more wet, but we pretty much sat in the stadium drenched. The game was awesome!

The announcer said, "Touch Down at the end of the rainbow!"

Surprise Getaway....

All week Matt told me he had this surprise up his sleeve that he had been planning for Friday. Of course I'm asking him for hints and finally on Friday the only thing he tells me is, "steel". Anyways, here are some better hints as to where Matt planned our "romantic" get a way.

Which city in Utah was first Fort Buenaventura?

Which city is the 6th largest in Utah? (Comes right after Orem)

This city was initially named Brownsville.

It also had a huge dinosaur park!

Okay, okay... enough suspense. Matt took me to Ogden.

Matt had a gift card to Best Western which he earned while working in Vernal for a couple of months earlier this year and the last part of last year. It was a cheap hotel and a cheap trip. It took us less than an hour to get up there and yet we felt so far away from home. The best part of traveling with Matt is no matter where you go, near or far, he'll come up with a list of the BEST things to do in that area. Matt found the best pizza place in town and also a list of 10 things you could do in Ogden. I know many of you are thinking, "there are 10 things to do in Ogden?" Well there is and Matt and I were busy doing those things.

We mostly enjoyed walking down "Historic Ogden". There are a lot of antique shops down there. Matt has his heart on a record player and we saw a bunch of those. Not too sure if all of them worked but it made Matt happy to see a few options.

I wish I collected antiques or at least knew what to do with them because we saw some pretty cool things.

We also went to Farr's Ice Cream, which I didn't know had it's roots in Ogden.

Besides stopping at iFLY and having this semi-real experience of sky diving (look below for an actual clip of my mad skills), we went to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. It was a little grotesque because of it's Halloween decorations, but it was cool to look at some realistic thunder lizards.

Anyways, moral of the story: Matt's a stud. He's also set the standard for really cool dates. I want to know how I'm going to beat this one.... I also recommend running off to Ogden, even if it is only for a day.

There's no way I'd ever sky dive, so I felt this was the thrill that did it for me. :)
